The third series of ''Geordie Shore'', a British television programme based in Newcastle upon Tyne, began airing on 26 June 2012 on MTV. This series featured Vicky and Ricci's relationship on the rocks before they finally got engaged, Holly and James growing closer when James breaks his leg, and more bickering and flirting between Gaz and Charlotte. ==Storylines== The cast arrive in the house in Newcastle and Anna tells them all to pack their bags because they're going to house-sit in Cancun, Mexico. As most arrive in Cancun, Vicky and Jay remain in Newcastle to get a later flight. Sophie announces she's back with Joel, and Rebecca's happy at the thought of being able to fit into the group without Vicky there to judge her, but Ricci's clearly missing her. Cancun Chris arrives to tell the group to look after the house and not to touch his tequila. On the first night out, Gaz attempts to pull Charlotte but she refuses to get into bed with him, and Holly admits she still has feelings for James. Sophie calls Joel the next morning and overhears another girl in the background and quickly assumes the worst. Cancun Chris calls and tells Rebecca and Charlotte to stay and look after the house, but they refuse and go out with the rest of the group. Charlotte and Gaz desperately try and compete to pull other people to prove a point to each other, and Sophie acts like she's single. After returning to the house, they're greeted with Jay and Vicky and Jay announces he's got a girlfriend. Cancun Chris kicks Charlotte and Rebecca out of the house for failing to follow his instructions. On the next night out, Holly gets jealous of James attempting to pull and Sophie fears that Charlotte would be upset if she seen what Gaz was going with other girls. The group aren't happy when Vicky and Ricci isolate themselves from the group and go home early. Holly admits she can't stop thinking about James but swears that there's no feelings there, meanwhile Sophie makes up with Joel over the phone. Holly has high hopes for the night out hoping to get James back into bed so asks Gaz for advice. He strongly advises her to get James drunk and see how things go between them. The plan soon backfires though as Holly's the one getting too drunk and wrecks her room back at the house. James is there to sweep the glass up and to put Holly to bed but makes sure he keeps away from her. Elsewhere, Vicky and Ricci start an argument over a spilt drink but it makes her doubt their relationship. Jay's not happy when he realises Holly's smashed the phone in rage. Charlotte and Rebecca return to the house and immediately go on a night out, and Charlotte and Gaz are surprised that they don't care when each other pulls. A conversation between them makes Charlotte emotional as she prefers them just being good friends instead of having sex and developing feelings. Sophie is more paranoid than ever when Joel doesn't answer the phone several times. The next day though, Joel arrives at the house surprising Sophie but making the others feeling awkward after they've been encouraging Sophie to end things with him. Charlotte starts a fight with Gaz after seeing him attempt to pull in a club and both agree to keep away from each other. Gaz hides his jealousy when Charlotte flirts with Australian Andy at the beach. During Mexican Wrestling lessons, James breaks his leg, and Holly is there to look after him but with an ulterior motive. Joel tries to flirt with a girl at the beach but the girl drops him in it by telling Gaz that Joel said he was single. The gossip soon spreads and it all gets back to Sophie who's not happy. Vicky and Ricci finally call a truce, and after sharing a bed together but promising that nothing would happen, Gaz gives in and makes a move on Charlotte but she refuses to do anything with him. The following morning however she tries it on with her but he refuses. It's Gaz's birthday and the group plan on going for a big night out. However, Charlotte decides to ask Andy if he wants to meet up with her when they're out, and she's pleased when he accepts the invitation. Just as everyone's about to go out, Cancun Chris calls and asks Holly and Vicky to pick up a package for him. Gaz isn't impressed when he doesn't pull on his birthday and Charlotte comes back with Andy, meanwhile Holly and Vicky spend the night travelling looking for the package. The morning after Charlotte wakes up to find Andy gone but a romantic note written on her leg from him. Elsewhere, Vicky wakes to find the car battery's drained from her using the air con. Holly and Vicky decide to get drunk and forget about the package. Returning to the car, Vicky hates the fact that they have to wait for the battery to be replaced so storms off and leaves. Holly returns to the house unsure of Vicky's whereabouts which worries Ricci. He then leaves the house looking for her. Sophie still has trust issues with Joel as she spots him flirting with other girls again, and Holly gets what she wants by having sex with James again. When Andy returns home to Australia, Charlotte turns to Gaz for sex but he pushes her away. Ricci and Vicky return to the house the next day and go on a double date with Sophie and Joel, and after originally expecting arguments, Sophie's delighted that Joel's finally accepted into the group. Gaz decides to drink Cancun Chris' tequila knowing that there will be serious consequences, and he's told he must replace it instantly with a specific bottle which can only be bought certain places in Mexico. He chooses Charlotte to go with him to retrieve it, which she's confused about but the pair get along well as friends. Joel returns home and Sophie gets extremely emotional and thinks about following him back to England. Holly's not impressed when she sees James pulling a girl, and realising the drama he's caused, James ends the brief fling he has with her. Holly then gets upset and turns to the alcohol. Gaz and Charlotte finally return to the house and find out that they've lost the bottle of tequila on the journey home. Jay gives Rebecca some home truths instigating arguments between them. The next night, Ricci arranges a romantic meal for Vicky so they stay in, whilst Charlotte kicks off at Gaz in a club for attempting to bring a girl back, meanwhile Holly gets too drunk again trying to impress James. The following night, Holly and Sophie go on stage to do karaoke and Vicky jokingly throws her bra at them causing Ricci to be upset. As the pair end up in an argument again, Vicky feels that he's trying to control their relationship. After making up, Ricci tells Gaz that he's planning a proposal to Vicky, and Sophie has an announcement of her own when she reveals she'll be returning to Newcastle. On Sophie's last night, Vicky gets drunk which doesn't impress Ricci, and the pair clash again. After things turn violent, Ricci removes himself from the house and Vicky apologises for ruining Sophie's night. Cancun Chris arrives to reveal that Vicky and Ricci will not be returning to the house following the fight, and Sophie faces an emotional goodbye when she returns home. The boy/girl divide is back the next night as Charlotte and Gaz refuse to speak to each other, there's tension between Holly and James, and Rebecca and Jay continue their arguing. When Jay finds out that Chloe is on her way, he calls a truce with Rebecca to avoid any awkwardness when she arrives. With the girls all out of the house, Ricci asks Gaz to help him choose an engagement ring for Vicky and the group seem confused by the sudden change of heart. Meanwhile, Vicky returns to the house to collect her belongings and reveals she's having second thoughts about the relationship, unaware of the upcoming proposal. Jay is delighted when Chloe finally arrives but he announces to her that he'll be leaving Geordie Shore forever. Holly and James grow closer, and Charlotte accidentally tells Gaz she loves him when they go on a day out. As they're about to have sex, Rebecca walks in and stops it from happening. The next day, Ricci takes Vicky for a romantic meal. He tells her to look at the sky as a plane flies past with a banner saying "Vicky will you marry me?", shocked at the sight, Vicky says yes and the pair get engaged. They then join the rest of the group on a night out and tell them that they're engaged and will be returning to Newcastle. Before they leave, Jay says a final goodbye to them and says he will be leaving Geordie Shore forever. With Ricci and Vicky gone, the next morning the group go on a booze cruise but it soon turns into a disaster when Charlotte gets increasingly jealous over Gaz pulling. Back at the house, the girls overhear Gaz and James talking about them in a horrible way and confront them. Shocked at how far the arguments have gone, Gaz smashes up the house. The next day is Jay's birthday and he's nervous about telling everyone that it's his last day. Cancun Chris arrives in the house to tell Gaz off for wrecking the place and attempts to force him and Charlotte to call a truce. James sees the situation that Gaz and Charlotte are in and refuses to let himself and Holly get that way so quickly ends the brief fling. During the BBQ for Jay's birthday, he drops a bombshell telling them that he'll be leaving Geordie Shore. As everyone's emotional, Gaz takes the news worse than others and Charlotte isn't there to comfort him. When they all go on Jay's last night out, Gaz makes his anger known to Charlotte causing more kick-offs between them. Jay says an emotional goodbye to everyone the next morning before leaving with Chloe. With just 5 remaining, everyone spends the last day as a group but there's clear tension between Gaz and Charlotte. As the Geordie Shore experience comes to an end, they finally call a truce. Everyone then says goodbye to each other and returns to Newcastle.
